Service. Silence. Sacrifice.
Genetic damage in offspring due to radiation exposure is well known, but not well documented for our generation to access. Critical information is required for these casualties to pursue proper medical care.
Children of Atomic Veterans helps bridge the global gap to provide easier access to relevant information about the transgenerational genetic damage from years of global Atomic and thermonuclear testing and the impacted civilians and contractors exposed.

My name is Robert Sweeny, I was a BT3 on the U.S.S. Thomaston -LSD- 28 from 1978-1980 and we were in Enewetak Atoll as well. I wasn’t aware of this site until recently when someone posted it on our Ships website muster list. My youngest daughter was born with some things I don’t want to post on here. I wonder if it could be related to this.
Thank you….
Robert Sweeny: Thank you for finding our website. There are a number of health challenges caused by exposure to ionizing radiation at Enewetak Atoll. Some of those health issues have been found to pass down to seven generations in rat studies. If you want to discuss your family’s specific situation, feel free to email me, Frank Bolton, at gatekeeper@atomiccleanupvets.com. We also have a private group on Facebook at Enewetak Atomic Cleanup Veterans
I was on Lojwa from 10/78 to 4/79 and signed up on this website a few years ago but my name still isn’t on the survivors list. Although I have no relatable health issues, my children did.
